Staff Information

Rev. David Rucker

Brother David Rucker came to Terrell as pastor on Father’s Day, 2007 from First United Methodist Church in Paris.  David and Camille have two grown children.  Peter is a computer programmer in Bryan and serves with the Texas National Guard.  Dinah is a third grade teacher in Houston. Brother David grew up in Abilene, TX where he graduated from McMurry College with a double major in Mathematics and Christian Education.  He moved to Dallas to attend Perkins School of Theology where he received his M.Th. in 1972.

Angie Cooper
As a child my mother brought my brother and I to church every Sunday.  I was raised Church of Christ but converted to Methodist once I was married.  I graduated with a Finance Degree from the University of Arlington in 1995 and soon married Jimmy Cooper, who was raised in this church.  One look at the sanctuary in Terrell and I knew this was where I was to be married.  Being raised in a church with only one person active I knew how important it was for Jimmy and me to raise our children in the church.  We have been blessed with two children, Emmy and Reece.   We come to church most Sundays as a family, which I am glad of because I never had that as a child.  In February 2007 the Children’s Director job opened at FUMC Terrell and it just seemed right to take it.  I totally love my job and feel lead by God in events that we have done at the church.

Deidrea Davis
B.S. - Elementary Education
        Generic Special Education
M.Ed. - Counseling

I teach Special Education at Terrell High School.  I have been teaching for twenty- seven years.  Most of those years have been in Special Ed. I received my B.S. from West Texas A&M and my M.Ed from Hardin-Simmons University.  I was christened and raised in this church.  When I was sixteen I took over the children's choir and continued until I left for college.  My first stint as choir director here at FUMC was from 1988 - 1991.  I returned to Terrell in 1995 and became the choir director in 1996.  My goal as director of Music Ministries is to bring the love of Jesus
Christ to anyone who walks through our doors.  I want people to beexcited about the musical message they get on Sunday mornings.

Cathy Wheeler
I started I think in January of 2005, but not sure.  I'm the god daughter of J. W. and Chris Williamson, long time members of FUMC Terrell.  I'm married with two grown children and live in Sunnyvale.  In addition to being on staff in Terrell, I am also the pianist at New Covenant United Methodist Church in Sunnyvale where I play for their 8:30 am service and I have been the music teacher/chapel leader at Christian Childhood Development Center for 16 years.  I love music and have strong beliefs about the value of musical experiences for young children and the value of musical experiences in worship services.  It's a privilege to play the piano for church and I'm extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity for so many years.
