Children's Sunday School Classes
The mission of our Children's Sunday school is to lay a firm foundation by teaching our children to know Christ and the awesome love He has for them.
For the preschool children we offer a wonderful traditional class that has a new Bible discovery each week. Preschoolers learn through felt board lessons, crafts and music.
FUMC offers a rotational style of SS classes for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. By rotating SS classes, we offer an adventure in learning each week. Every 6 weeks we discover a new treasure in the Bible by examining it in Science, Music/Games, Drama, Cooking, Art and Theater. Upcoming studies include:
- Mary Magdalene's Story
- Peter in Prison
- Building of the Tabernacle
- Rebekah
Our 5th and 6th Graders go to the GRAPPLE class. The tweens get a secure on-line social network with friends form their class. On-line they can get GRAPPLE clues, Bible verses, cool polls, surveys, challenges, on-line games and much more. Because it's so important for this age to communicate with their parents, we also offer a Parent Connect page that can be e-mailed directly to the parents to help keep them in the loop.
Starting in December, book marks will be given out weekly to encourage reading at home. For each book mark read and returned, the student gets to visit the treasure box.
