Women's Class Gets New Name & Study

Our women's class is now the "Women of Kindness and Wisdom" class. Beginning October 16, the Women of Kindness and Wisdom class will begin a 10 week study based on A Confident Heart by Renee Swope of Proverbs 31 Ministries. The series teaches how to stop doubting yourself and live in the security of God's promises. The topics include: discovering the shadow of our doubts; realizing we do not have to be perfect because God's love is; God's promise of hope despite the pain of our pasts; what to do when doubt whispers negatives, and becoming the woman you want to be; living the security of God's promise. 

All women of the church are welcome to join the class which meets upstairs in the first room of the Children's Wing.

FUMC has something for EVERYONE in your family on Wednesdays!

Wednesday Night Live 2011-2012 begins with a meal at 6:00 p.m. Wednesdays, in the Fellowship Hall.  A different group provides for the meal each week. Click here for the menu schedule. 

Classes for all ages begin at 6:30 p.m. in various locations on the church campus.

ADULT CLASSES

BECOMING A LOVE AND LOGIC PARENT 
This is an approach to raising kids that provides loving support from parents while at the same time expecting kids to be respectful and responsible. A fee of $10 covers the cost of the workbook. The class meets on the top floor of the Children's Wing of the Education Building in the "Dome Room." Any questions can be directed to the teacher, Shirley Miller, at 972-524-8399. PASTOR'S BIBLE STUDY
Come to an "Invitation to the New Testament" led by Rev. Keith L. Head, pastor of First UMC. This nine-week short-term DISCIPLE Bible Study explores how the New Testament writers and the early Christian community wrestled with the coming of Jesus - his life, actions, mission, death, and resurrection - and the implications of his arrival for their lives and their communities of faith. The class meets in the Fellowship Hall. The only cost is for the Participant Book at $12. Just come as you are with a Bible and a desire to learn! All Children's Classes meet in the Children's Wing of the Education Building.

PRESCHOOL KIDS
Those who haven't started Kindergarten learn through "Play in Worship!"

KINDERGARTEN TO FIFTH GRADE
These children participate in Joyful Noise and MPKids (third Wednesdays only).

UNDERGROUND YOUTH:
These courses/activities are open to all youth church members and the community! They meet in the basement of the Education Building.
