Mrs. Lewis

Classroom Teacher for the 3 Year-Old Pre-School Class

Mrs. Lewis has been teaching at Methodist Day School for 18 years. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and attended graduate school at Texas A&M at Commerce.

When you ask Mrs. Lewis to tell you about herself, she will tell you, "I am originally from San Antonio, but have lived in Terrell since graduating from college. I moved here with my husband, David, when we came to Terrell so he could open his law office. He is now the Kaufman County Court-at-Law #2 Judge. We have 2 sons, one who recently graduated from law school and one who is an undergraduate at Texas Tech."

Mrs. Lewis' philosphy of education is that the preschool and Kindergarten years should be the happiest time in school. This is the time when children learn to be away from their parents and learn to trust other adults. They learn about themselves and other students, and they begin to learn they are competent and important. Children this age learn by playing, and everything at school should be interesting and exciting. Mrs. Lewis wants students to be eager to learn and experience new things every day.
